Maytrix Installation Guide

Mount your infinity mirror with confidence.

Your mounting system is selected according to the size and configuration of your piece. Mirrors measuring 3 feet in diameter or less use four keyhole mounting points. Larger pieces use an interlocking Z-bracket system.

Before you begin: Always follow the mounting plan and hardware notes supplied with your order. Wall construction varies, so the correct fastener must be chosen for the actual wall material. Large or heavy pieces should be lifted by at least two capable adults or a qualified installer.

Which mounting system do I have?

Measure the diameter or widest dimension of your finished piece and check the hardware on its back.

3 ft and under

Four-point keyhole mounting

Four keyholes around the frame align with properly anchored screws in the wall for a clean, secure installation.

Above 3 ft

Interlocking Z-bracket mounting

A level wall-mounted rail receives the matching bracket on the mirror, distributing the load across a wider area.

Option 01

Four-point keyhole mounting

Used for pieces with a diameter or widest dimension of 3 feet or less.

4 anchor points Top, bottom, left, right Illustration—not to scale
Confirm the location Check for electrical wiring, plumbing, tile edges, and other hidden obstacles. Confirm that the installation area is flat and can support the piece.
Mark all four points Use the supplied measurements or template. Mark the top, bottom, left, and right mounting locations, then verify spacing twice.
Level and drill Use a level across your marks. Drill the correct pilot holes for your wall material and selected fasteners.
Install anchors and screws Set the anchors securely and leave each screw head projecting only as required for the keyhole plate to capture it.
Connect power before the final seat If the power connection will sit behind the mirror, route and connect it while the back remains accessible. Never pinch the cable.
Engage all four keyholes With help, align the frame with all four screws and seat it following the orientation labels supplied with your piece. Confirm every point is fully engaged.
Final safety check Verify level, gently test for movement, confirm the frame sits evenly, and make sure no cable or adapter is trapped behind it.
Option 02

Z-bracket mounting

Used for pieces above 3 feet to spread the load across a wider section of wall.

Identify structure and utilities Locate studs, blocking, masonry, electrical wiring, and plumbing. The wall rail must be secured with fasteners appropriate for the wall and the confirmed weight.
Set the finished height Mark the desired top and center lines while accounting for the bracket engagement distance shown with your order.
Position the wall rail Place the rail in its required orientation, level it carefully, and mark every usable fastening location.
Fasten the rail Drill pilot holes and secure the rail to suitable structure. Recheck level after tightening; a small rail error becomes visible across a large mirror.
Prepare power and lifting access Route the power lead without creating a pinch point. Clear the lifting path and use enough installers for the piece's confirmed weight and size.
Lift and interlock Raise the mirror above the wall rail, keep it parallel to the wall, and lower it slowly until the frame bracket fully engages across the rail.
Confirm full engagement Check both ends and the center, verify level and stability, and install any supplied anti-lift or retention hardware before releasing the piece.

Tools and materials

Your exact fasteners depend on the wall. Review the hardware included with your order and supply any wall-specific anchors required for the installation site.

Common tools

  • Tape measure and pencil
  • Long spirit or laser level
  • Stud finder with live-wire detection
  • Drill/driver and wall-appropriate bits
  • Screwdriver or socket set
  • Protective eyewear
  • Two or more capable installers when required

Before drilling

  • Confirm the mirror's exact weight and dimensions
  • Confirm mounting-hole or rail spacing
  • Identify the wall material and internal structure
  • Select fasteners rated for the wall and load
  • Plan outlet, adapter, and cable placement
  • Clear the lift path and protect nearby surfaces
  • Contact a professional when wall capacity is uncertain
Important: Do not rely on drywall alone for a heavy installation unless an appropriately rated anchoring system has been selected for the actual load and wall construction. Never drill until you have checked for hidden electrical, plumbing, or building services.

Choosing fasteners by wall type

The table below is general planning guidance. Local conditions, codes, and the confirmed weight of your piece always take priority.

Wood studs Fasten into the center of sound studs or suitable structural blocking using properly sized structural screws.
Drywall Locate studs or blocking whenever possible. If a mounting point cannot reach structure, use only a rated anchoring solution approved for the total load and wall assembly.
Concrete or brick Use the correct masonry bit and anchors rated for the substrate and load. Avoid weak mortar joints unless the selected system specifically permits them.
Tile or stone Use the correct non-impact bit through the finished surface, avoid edge locations, and anchor into suitable structure behind it. Professional installation is recommended.
Metal studs Confirm stud gauge and wall construction. Use an appropriate rated fastening strategy or add blocking; consult a qualified installer for large pieces.

Power and cable planning

Power requirements vary with size and configuration. Your matching adapter is supplied with the piece and will usually plug into a standard wall outlet.

Visible cord installation

Use the nearest suitable outlet and route the low-voltage cable neatly with a surface cable channel if desired. Maintain ventilation around the adapter and keep all connections accessible.

Concealed installation

Plan concealed power before mounting. Do not place an ordinary plug or adapter inside a sealed wall cavity. Any new in-wall mains wiring or recessed outlet must be installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.

No wall mounting required

Self-standing options are available.

For events, temporary activations, leased spaces, or locations where wall mounting is not practical, Maytrix can produce a compatible self-standing display solution.

Ideal for

  • Trade shows and brand activations
  • Pop-ups and temporary events
  • Step-and-repeat photo areas
  • Spaces with restricted wall drilling
  • Displays that may need to be relocated

Plan it with us

Self-standing systems depend on the mirror's dimensions, weight, venue conditions, expected public access, and whether the display will be moved. Contact us before ordering so the correct base, support, cable routing, and stability requirements can be included in your quote.

Installation questions

How do I know which system comes with my mirror?

Pieces measuring 3 feet or less use four keyhole mounting points. Pieces above 3 feet use Z-bracket mounting. Your order documentation confirms the system and the final mounting dimensions.

Is mounting hardware included?

Your piece arrives with its frame-mounted hardware and order-specific installation information. Because walls vary, confirm whether the supplied fasteners are suitable for your wall or whether wall-specific anchors must be sourced locally.

Can one person install it?

Use the confirmed weight and dimensions to plan the lift. Even a manageable weight can be awkward when the piece is large or reflective. We recommend at least two capable adults for any installation where safe alignment cannot be maintained by one person.

Can I mount it over an outlet?

Only when the outlet, plug, adapter, cable bend radius, ventilation, and service access can all be accommodated safely without preventing the mounting hardware from fully engaging.

Can the power cable be hidden?

Yes, if planned correctly. A recessed outlet or code-compliant wiring solution may be used, but mains electrical work should be completed by a qualified professional. Never bury a standard adapter or extension connection inside a wall.

Can it be mounted on brick, concrete, tile, or stone?

Usually, provided the substrate is sound and the correct rated anchors and drilling method are used. Finished masonry and tile installations are best handled by a qualified installer.

Can I move the mirror later?

Yes. Support the piece while disengaging it, disconnect power, and avoid twisting the frame. Inspect the wall hardware and frame hardware before reinstalling. Use new anchors if the original anchor type is not reusable.

What if wall mounting is not possible?

Ask us about a self-standing display. These are planned around the size, weight, location, public access, and portability needs of your project.

Still unsure about your wall?

Send us a photo of the installation area, the wall material, and your order details. We can help identify the mounting system and the information your installer will need.
